Spray Tan Guide

Process During Your Spray Tan

Home Preparation

Upon arriving to your appointment, I will provide you with a personalised consultation. This will ensure the best result and maintenance of your tan. I will customise your Spray Tan to suit your complexion and help you achieve your desired results.

You will be spray tanned in a spray tan tent

Keep in mind to have direct access to a wall outlet and appropriate lighting.

Please choose a room that has space and that you are comfortable for me to set up.

I can tan clients in garages, outside decks and bathrooms, non carpeted areas.

Please also be aware that the spray tan machine can be loud so choose an area that won't interfere with a sleeping baby or other family members in your home.

Preparation Before Spray Tan

Exfoliate 24 hours before your tan to remove dead skin cells for an even finish.Shave or wax at least 24 hours prior.Avoid moisturisers, deodorant, perfume & oils on the day of your tan as they can create a barrier and a green stain reaction due to the Dihydroxyacetone in the tanning solution.Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment to prevent rubbing or staining.Remove makeup & jewellery before your session.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: How long will my spray tan last? A: Typically, a spray tan lasts 7–10 days with proper care. Moisturising daily and avoiding harsh scrubs will help extend its life.

  • Q: Will I look orange? A: Absolutely not! I customise every tan to suit your skin tone using professional solutions that deliver a natural, sun-kissed glow.

  • Q: What should I wear during my spray tan? A: You can wear as much or as little as you feel comfortable with—most clients choose underwear or a bikini. Disposable G-strings can also be provided.

  • Q: How soon before my event should I book? A: Ideally, book your spray tan 1–2 days before your event to allow the colour to fully develop.

  • Q: Can I get a spray tan while pregnant? A: Yes, spray tans are generally considered safe during pregnancy. However, I always recommend consulting with your doctor first, and I provide nose filters and good ventilation for extra comfort.

  • Q: Can I shower after my spray tan? A: Yes—just wait the recommended 2–8 hours depending on the solution used. Your first rinse should be with lukewarm water only (no soap).

  • Q: How should I prepare for my spray tan? A: Exfoliate, shave/wax 24 hours prior, and arrive with clean, product-free skin. Avoid moisturisers, deodorants, perfumes, and oils before your appointment.

  • Q: Will my tan rub off on clothes or sheets? A: Some bronzer transfer may happen before your first rinse, but it washes out easily from most fabrics. Wearing dark, loose clothing helps minimise this.

  • Q: How often can I get a spray tan? A: You can get a tan as often as you’d like. Many clients book weekly or fortnightly for a consistent glow.
